Trap game alert: Oklahoma State must start fast at Texas Tech

The Texas Tech nosebleed doesn't look like it could stop a nosebleed these days, but things are different in Lubbock. The Red Raiders are significantly tougher to knock off at home than on the road, and Oklahoma State has to travel to take on Kliff Kingsbury's squad.

A fast start is very important for Mason Rudolph and company.

“There’s no coaching theory there,” Gundy said. “If you can play well in the first quarter, you can give yourself to be on some kind of a level playing field. We were fortunate to be there at West Virginia.”

Gundy knows that his Cowboys will be walking into a tough atmosphere the moment they set foot in Lubbock.

“It’s a difficult place to play,” Gundy said. “You gotta be able to play sound defense, sound special teams and you gotta be able to run the ball, unless you’re sitting there with an NFL-ready quarterback. That will be our gameplan.”
