Three more LSU football players arrested on Thursday

By Vincent Frank

Just hours after LSU defensive tackle Trey Lealaimatafao was arrested on battery and robbery charges in Baton Rouge comes this disturbing piece of information.

Quarterback Anthony Jennings and two other LSU football players found themselves in trouble with the law on Thursday. Jennings, 20, was arrested on charges that include unauthorized entry of a dwelling. Defensive lineman Maquedius Bain and cornerback Dwayne Thomas were also arrested on the same charges with Thomas facing an additional charge of burglary.

The Advocate in Baton Rouge is reporting that all three players entered an apartment that didn’t belong to them on Sunday to retrieve items that had allegedly been stolen from Jennings.

From the report:

LSU head coach Les Miles indicated on Thursday evening that all three players were suspended pending an investigation:

All three were seen leaving East Baton Rouge Parish prison after being released on bond shortly after 8:00 p.m. ET.

Needless to say, Thursday was pretty eventful for the Tiger football program.

Jennings, a redshirt Junior, is the highest-profile of the four arrested on Thursday. He threw for 1,611 yards with 11 touchdowns compared to seven interceptions in 13 games as a sophomore last season. He’s expected to be the team’s starting quarterback this season.
