Three Big Ten commits among 2015 Elite 11

Three Big Ten teams got good news this weekend as their verbal commitments out-performed some of the nation's best quarterbacks en route to being selected members of the 2015 Elite 11.

The trio consists of Maryland commit Dwayne Haskins Jr. of the Bullis School in Maryland, Michigan commit Brandon Peters of Avon, Mich., and Rutgers commit Anthony Russo of Archbishop Wood in Pennsylvania.

Of that trio, Russo probably qualifies as a surprise. He entered the competition ranked only 43rd nationally at his position by Scout.com.

Haskins and Peters are both four-star recruits with Haskins ranked 12th nationally and Peters two spots behind him.

The SEC led the nation with five Elite 11 members, including MVP Shea Patterson, a Mississippi verbal commit from Calvary Baptist Academy in Louisiana.
