Ben Dupree scored on an 8-yard run with 3:04 left to lift The Citadel to a 13-12 win over Samford on Saturday in the season finale for both teams.

The Citadel (3-8, 1-7 Southern Conference) took a 7-0 lead in the first quarter when Travis Ruff scored off a blocked punt.

Cameron Yaw made field goals from 19, 21, 27 and 42 yards away to put Samford (4-7, 2-6) ahead with 8:29 left in the fourth quarter. But Dupree put The Citadel up for good with his 8-yard touchdown run.

Dupree completed 3 of 5 passes for 29 yards, rushing for 22 yards on 18 carries for The Citadel.

Samford's Dustin Taliaferro completed 28 of 36 passes for 286 yards. Chris Evans rushed for 91 yards on 28 carries.
