Joseph Anderson finished with 201 receiving yards and a touchdown and Derricus Purdy scored on an interception return as Texas Southern defeated Alabama A&M 32-9 Saturday.
Arvell Nelson added 288 passing yards and two touchdowns for the Tigers (1-2, 1-1 Southwestern Athletic Conference).
Chance Wilson kicked three field goals for the Bulldogs (1-2, 0-1), who were outgained 400-197.
Anderson caught seven passes, including a 61-yard TD late in the fourth quarter.
Purdy's 27-yard return with 11:43 to play gave Texas Southern a 19-9 lead and its first double-digit advantage. The Tigers pulled away when James Davis scored on a 10-yard pass five minutes later.
Marcus Wright rushed for a TD in the first half, and Zack Gallow had a safety.
