Texas lands fourth former Baylor recruit in 6-5, 325-pound O-lineman

Texas has added yet another former Baylor signee, blue-chip offensive line prospect Patrick Hudson, to its 2016 signing class. The Longhorns announced the 6-5, 325-pound Hudson's arrival Wednesday and said he is expected to enroll in the university's second summer session in July.

"We're really excited to have Patrick joining our program," UT head coach Charlie Strong said. "Patrick coming to Texas, along with J.P. (Urquidez) and Donovan (Duvernay) earlier this week, are tremendous additions to an already impressive class of 2016. Patrick and J.P. are two big, physical, talented linemen, and Donovan is an explosive athlete who has played on both sides. We're looking forward to getting them on campus and working with the team."

Hudson, ranked among the nation's top 100 recruits in the 2016 class, was exceptional in the Texas High School Powerlifting Association Championships Division 2 Super Heavyweight class, finishing second in 2015 (1,800-pound combined lift) and third in 2014 (1,690-pound combined lift). He and speedy wideout Devin Duvernay were considered by many recruiting analysts as the top-ranked prospects in the Bears' signing class last winter. Both are now at UT along with Duvernay's twin brother Donovan and Urquidez, also former Baylor recruits.
