Texas A&M releases first depth chart of season

Texas A&M released its first depth chart of the season Monday afternoon, and there were no major surprises leading up to Saturday night's much-hyped contest against Arizona State at Cowboys Stadium. However, there were a few interesting items worth noting that are detailed below.

-- True freshman Christian Kirk, a top-100 recruit out of Scottsdale, Ariz., is listed as one of A&M's four starting wideouts along with Speedy Noil, Josh Reynolds and Ricky Seals-Jones. Kirk also is listed as the backup kick and punt returner behind Noil.

-- Brandon Williams, who was moved from running back to defense early in fall camp, apparently played well enough the past two weeks to earn a starting spot. Williams is listed as a co-starter at right cornerback opposite senior returning starter De'Vante Harris.

-- True freshman Jordan Davis is listed as a co-starter at tight end with senior Caden Smith. While A&M doesn't often deploy a tight end, Davis obviously has made an impression during his brief time on campus.

-- Julien Obioha, who primarily played defensive end last season, is listed as a starting defensive tackle along with fellow senior Alonzo Williams. Junior Daeshon Hall has taken over Obioha's end spot opposite sophomore and preseason All-American Myles Garrett.
