Tennessee freshman DT Shy Tuttle lost for the season
As Tennessee heads into its only bye week of the season, they will have to prepare for the second half of the season without freshman defensive tackle Shy Tuttle, Butch Jones announced Tuesday.
"Shy Tuttle has a broken fibula and an ankle injury. He will be out for the season," Jones said. "I love Shy and the way he has developed. That is a big, big blow to our football team."
The freshman does not start for the team but has played significant snaps on the interior of the Volunteer defensive line and played a huge role in slowing down Georgia in the second half of the team's 38-31 victory. While they did not start the game, Tuttle and fellow freshman defensive lineman Kahlil McKenzie starting the second half of the Georgia game.
With Tuttle lost for the season, the question now is will McKenzie's play continue to improve without his fellow freshman in the lineup?
