Tennessee could get back two receivers for the Vanderbilt game

Without a doubt, the season has not gone according to plan for Tennessee junior receiver Marquez North. In what was expected to be his breakout campaign, North has only made an appearance in four games and caught five passes for 46 yards without a touchdown.

Having failed to play since the Kentucky game on Halloween, North may suit up for the regular season finale against Vanderbilt according to his head coach Butch Jones. Freshman receiver Jauan Jennings also appears likely to return after missing the Missouri game.

“Marquez North will be a game-time decision. Jauan Jennings will practice today,” Jones said. “We anticipate, again, everyone being available. We’ll know a little bit more on Marquez game-time, and I’ll know a little bit more after practice with Jauan. But he’s gonna practice today.”

The freshman did not make the trip to Columbia last week, as he was injured in practice.

“It’s been a thigh, just taking a helmet there,” said Jones, “He’s done a great of getting it back, and as we all know, he’s as competitive as anyone we have in our football program. But I’ll know a little bit more later today.

“He went through some of practice yesterday, but he’ll go through the entire practice today.”
