Tabor feels like 'the best' corner on Florida's team

Florida possesses arguably the deepest and most talented secondary in the entire SEC.

The high-profile name of note is corner Vernon Hargreaves III. Often garnering acclaim from a national perspective, many feel as if he's the top corner on the squad.

If you ask fellow starting defensive back Jalen Tabor that question, he may not agree with you.

Per an interview with the Miami Herald, Tabor spoke about the confidence he has as a player -- and why he feels as if he shouldn't be discounted.

"Everybody thinks Vernon is the best, but I feel like when I'm on and when I'm doing what I got to do, I feel like I'm the best," said Tabor.

The Washington D.C. native has developed into a potential all-conference player. He's got terrific height and length, and is supremely competitive. Tabor is also second on the team in interceptions (3), and leads the team in pass-breakups (12).

Head coach Jim McElwain also lauded his young defensive back -- crediting him for his develop as an athlete.

"He's one of those guys that I think has come the farthest and has gotten better because of it," said McElwain. "Understanding the importance of detail, understanding the importance of it isn't just rolling the ball out there and go play."
