Sycamores add former player, Boise St. assistant to staff
TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (AP) Shannon Jackson and Kriss Proctor have been hired as assistant coaches, Indiana State head coach Mike Sanford announced Tuesday.
Jackson played for the Sycamores in the late 1990s and is beginning his third stint as a coach at his alma mater. He previously worked at Indiana State from 2000-04 and `08-'12 before leaving for Georgia State where he worked with former Indiana State coach Trent Miles.
Again, Jackson will coach the defensive line.
Proctor will coach the receivers after spending the last two seasons as Boise State's offensive quality control coach while finishing his undergraduate coursework. He also worked on the staff with Mike Sanford Jr., the son of the Sycamores' coach. Proctor played four seasons as a quarterback at Navy, scoring a team-high 14 touchdowns in 2011.
