Stanford's David Shaw knew he had a Rose Bowl team before the season (Video)

Stanford head coach David Shaw has seen his fair share of Rose Bowl teams. In fact, he had led the Cardinal to Rose Bowl appearances in 2012 and 2013.

When asked by reporters on Wednesday when he knew the 2015 team had a chance to be a Rose Bowl caliber team, Shaw said that he knew before the season even started.

"The first time I said that was about a week into training camp," said Shaw. "When I watched this team practice and compete...I thought at that point this has a chance to be a really special football team."

Stanford will have a chance to win its second Rose Bowl in four years on Jan. 1 against Iowa.
