Stanford lands OT Nate Herbig

The Stanford Cardinal have landed offensive guard prospect Nate Herbig. Herbig, who received a scholarship offer less than a week after attending a camp at Stanford, had been dreaming about playing for the Cardinal.

The 6'4", 320 pound lineman from St. Louis high school in Honolulu, Hawaii was a top performer at the Rivals camp in Los Angeles in May and had impressed scouts at camps in recent weeks.

Of his decision, Herbig said:

"I was definitely going back and forth between Stanford and Washington State," Herbig said, according to Blair Angulo of Rivals. "But what Stanford can offer me in the classroom is something no other school on the West Coast can. With the type of offense Washington State runs, they pass the ball a lot. I would be in a two-point stance there and I believe I'm more of a downhill blocker than can move off the ball."
