Spartans lead Big Ten in experience heading into season

Based on Phil Steele's formula, no team in the Big Ten this season brings back as much experience as Michigan State. 

MLive.com notes Michigan State comes in 27th nationally, edging No. 30 Ohio State. Michigan ranks No. 37 nationally and third in the Big Ten in Steele's formula that takes into account several factors, including not only members of the depth chart from last season but also some statistics. 

Also of note: Michigan State's biggest nonconference opponent, Oregon, ranks 89th in returning experience.
