South Carolina vs Mississippi State live stream: Watch Online
South Carolina looks to get win number 2 on the season; while Mississippi State looks to rebound after its upset loss to South Alabama.
It was a Saturday to forget for the home team, Mississippi State Bulldogs last weekend, as the Bulldogs and their fans found out that life after Dak Prescott might be harder than they thought. Mississippi State squandered a 17-0 halftime lead and lost to South Alabama 21-20.
New South Carolina head coach, Will Muschamp, introduced his squad to the nation last Thursday in a primetime game against Vanderbilt. The Gamecocks offense overcame the stout Commodore defense to win the game 13-10.
Mississippi State and South Carolina last played in 2013. A lot has changed for both teams in that period of time. Mississippi State elevated itself as a program in recent years and South Carolina suddenly declined last year. Both need a win this weekend to have a shot a bowl eligibility, especially Mississippi State.
The Bulldogs will be looking to get some offensive traction in the game against South Carolina. State needs to show improvement after falling flat in the second half against South Alabama, especially against a much better defense, not that Carolina’s defense is top tier, but it is better than a Sun Belt defense.
South Carolina will look to continue their success on offense with Perry Orth leading the offense. The Bulldog defense is not quite as good as Vanderbilt’s, but still good. The South Carolina offense however, should have confidence heading into the matchup.

In a battle of middle of the road SEC teams, I expect to see South Carolina come out on top. This game is however, a true toss up match. The Gamecocks have momentum and confidence after their big season opening win. Mississippi State is reeling and desperately needs a victory. This game doesn’t have “star power” like the Tennessee-Virginia Tech game, but it will be a quality, close matchup that should be watched on Saturday night.
