Source: Michigan will make Warde Manuel AD hiring official Friday

The University of Michigan is set to hire Connecticut athletic director Warde Manuel as its next permanent athletic director, a source told FOX Sports on Thursday. The news is expected to be made official on Friday.

Manuel, a former Michigan football player who worked in the Wolverines athletic department previously as an administrator, has been at UConn since 2012. He and Wolverines head coach Jim Harbaugh were teammates at Michigan in 1986. Manuel will take over for interim athletic director Jim Hackett.
