Source: Houston AD leaving Cougars to take over at Missouri
Houston athletic director Mack Rhoades is expected to become the new AD at the University of Missouri, a source told FOX Sports Sunday night. The 49-year-old Rhoades will replace Mike Alden, who is stepping down at Mizzou this summer.
At UH, Rhoades was regarded as an excellent fundraiser who helped build a new on-campus football stadium. Two months ago he hired Ohio State's offensive coordinator Tom Herman as the Cougars new head coach. A year earlier Rhoades also was able to lure Kelvin Sampson to UH as the school's basketball coach.
The news of Rhoades hire was first reported by CBSSports.com.
