Some of West Virginia's goals this football season remain quite reachable
This season has been a roller-coaster of sorts for West Virginia. Though their competition was lackluster, the Mountaineers looked as strong as any team in the country for most of September. Then, they started squaring off against the Big 12's elite teams, and they were exposed as being a notch or two below.
But with a solid win over Texas and an easy schedule to close out the season, West Virginia still can reach its goals it set before the season.
A win against 0-9 Kansas will make West Virginia bowl eligible for the 14th time in 15 seasons, an awfully impressive feat.
“It’s a little easier to refocus your guys from eliminating doubt or capitalizing on confidence after a win than it is after a few losses,” West Virginia coach Dana Holgorsen said. “I think this team is motivated, and it means a lot to them.”
