So. Utah routs Fort Lewis 49-0 with big first half
Aaron Cantu threw four touchdown passes and the Southern Utah defense forced six first-half turnovers in a 49-0 victory over Fort Lewis on Saturday night
Cantu completed 15 of 16 passes for 136 yards with two touchdown passes to Anthony Norris. Southern Utah added 232 yards on the ground to a balance the attack. The Thunderbird offense didn't turn the ball over and made the most of the opportunities, scoring on all but one possession in the first half.
Southern Utah's defense was dominant, forcing a total seven total turnovers. Matt Holley had a 19-yard fumble return for a touchdown in the first quarter. Miles Killebrew returned one fumble 89 yards for a touchdown, also in the first quarter. Chad Hansen led the Southern Utah defense with eight tackles.
The Thunderbirds (2-0) limited the Skyhawks (0-1) to 214 yards of offense, and just 48 on the ground.
