Shilique Calhoun leads Michigan State defensive All-Big Ten picks

Michigan State is headed to the Big Ten championship game, but the Spartans only had one first-team All-Big Ten performer on defense or special teams.

Senior end Shilique Calhoun was picked for the first team by the coaches and media, while tackle Malik McDowell made the media's second team along with linebacker Riley Bullough. McDowell also made the coaches' first team, while Bullough was named to the third team with defensive back Demetrious Cox and linebacker Darien Harris.

Earning honorable mention from the media or coaches were linemen Joel Heath and Lawrence Thomas, as well as linebacker Jon Reschke.

Calhoun is fifth in the Big Ten with 8.5 sacks. He also had 11.5 tackles for loss, matching McDowell.

Bullough led the team with 90 tackles, including four sacks.
