SEC games to host 'Super Bowl-styled' halftime shows
If fans in the Baton Rouge area have ever wanted to see a concert from one of the top pop acts in the country, all they have to do is buy a ticket to a certain LSU football game this season.
Per AL.com:
Rock band OneRepublic will provide halftime entertainment for the LSU-Florida game at Tiger Stadium this fall, LSU announced on Monday.
“The Super Bowl-styled performances will be held in conjunction with the Golden Band from Tigerland,” the university’s news release states, while adding that “a second world-renowned act” will soon be announced as halftime entertainment for a different SEC home game.
“This is a unique opportunity that we are excited to bring to Tiger Stadium this fall,” LSU athletic director Joe Alleva said. “We continue to look for ways to enhance and complement what is already the best atmosphere in college football, and we think that these two performances will be something that our fans will enjoy.”
The league and its schools have been working to improve the fan experience, in an effort to keep attendance at games on the rise in an era where some fans are choosing to watch more from home.
