Save the date: Baylor-TCU Friday night showdown is set
Circle Nov. 27. Gary Patterson and Art Briles certainly will.
The Big 12 and its broadcast partners announced kickoff times Monday for non-conference games and special dates. Here's a special one: Big 12 rivals and 2014 co-champs TCU and Baylor will meet at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 27. The game will be played at TCU's Amon G. Carter Stadium in Fort Worth and will be nationally televised on ESPN.
It will be the final game of the regular season for the Horned Frogs, who are expected to be ranked in the top three in the country entering the 2015 season. The Bears, expected to be a top-10 team, perhaps even top five at the start of the season, will finish their regular-season slate the following week at home against Texas.
Last year's TCU-Baylor game became an instant classic with the Bears winning on a late field goal, 61-58. That game was played in October and became a touchstone of sorts throughout the season as TCU was continually ranked ahead of Baylor in the College Football Playoff rankings.
In the end, Baylor finished No. 5, one spot out of the playoff, while the Frogs controversially dropped from No. 3 in the second-to-last rankings to No. 6.
