Saint Francis to host five in 2017 title defense

(STATS) - The 2016 season wasn't normal for Saint Francis, so why should 2017 be that way?

Saint Francis won the Northeast Conference title and played in the FCS playoffs for the first time last year. This year, the Red Flash will open the season with three straight home games, play four straight on the road and then flip-flop home and road games, ending the regular season out of conference at Eastern Kentucky.

Coach Chris Villarrial's squad will host five games at DelGol Field, Lock Haven (Sept. 2) and Towson (Sept. 16) out of conference and Wagner (Sept. 9), Robert Morris (Oct. 28) and Sacred Heart (Nov. 11) in NEC matchups.

The Red Flash went 7-5 last season, sharing the NEC title with Duquesne.
