Richt gives update on QB starter, names UGA's starting center

The question that just won't go away in Athens, and may not until opening kickoff according to Mark Richt, "Who's the starter at quarterback?"

According to Dawg Nation, Richt says the team will practice all three quarterbacks this fall "until we have an answer." Georgia's head coach also claimed the competition could last until the Sept. 5 opener against Louisiana-Monroe.

“It could go all the way to the first game,” Richt said. “Somewhere along the way it could drop into a two-man race. It’s hard to say where it might go. But that’s our starting point.”

The Bulldogs plan to start Brandon Kublanow at center this season according to Richt. Kublanow started every game last season at left guard but has shifted him inside, flipping positions with sophomore Isaiah Wynn.

When asked if anything felt different after so many seasons in Athens, the coach delivered a classic Richt response while rubbing his balding head: “It’s a lot cooler up top.”
