Report: Unnamed LSU coach receives six-month ban from texting recruits
According to a report via The Advocate, an unnamed LSU football coach has been banned from texting from his school-issued phone for six months due to an NCAA violation.
The coach's name will not be revealed, as he is protected via privacy laws.
LSU turned themselves into the NCAA June 1 after it was discovered the coach had sent a text message to a recruit this spring, which is an NCAA violation.
The coach's ability to text from the phone will be returned Dec. 1.
Regardless of this small violation, the Tigers are currently battling for the No. 1 overall recruiting class in the nation and because texts to prospects are not even allowed, this should not hinder any communication between the coach and any prospects currently being recruited.
