Report: Surgery expected to sideline Kerryon Johnson this spring

It appears Auburn will be down at least one running back for the majority of spring football, as sophomore running back Kerryon Johnson is not expected to fully participate, if at all. The second year player reportedly had shoulder surgery and will require the spring to rest his ailing shoulder.

According to AL.com, Auburn coaches are not yet prepared to rule out Johnson for the entire spring but he is unlikely to be involved in any contact drills this spring. The Tigers will still have the services of running backs Jovon Robinson, Roc Thomas and incoming freshman Malik Miller this spring.

In his only season with the team, Johnson was able to rack up 367 yards from scrimmage on 66 touches -- good for a 5.6 yards-per-touch -- and three touchdowns. Johnson was a former five-star recruit coming out of high school in 2015.
