Report: Peyton Manning consoled North Carolina QB after bad game
The first week of college football went way better for the South Carolina Gamecocks than it did for the North Carolina Tar Heels. South Carolina beat North Carolina 17-13.
UNC quarterback Marquise Williams had a game he'd surely love to forget. He completed 19 of 31 passes for 232 yards, but Williams also threw three interceptions, which helped keep the Gamecocks in the game and eventually gave it to them.
After the game, Williams reportedly decided to reach out to one of the best quarterbacks to ever play for a little advice:
Nice of Manning to offer a few kind words to a young QB struggling with a low point. Plus, Manning's a former Tennessee Volunteer, so it’s not like Williams plays for one of the Vols’ rivals, either. The Sheriff's probably in the clear there.
