Report: Ole Miss four-star RB Swinney injured: Lost for the season?

The Ole Miss Rebels may have to look somewhere else to solve their glaring hole for a star running back, as reports indicate four-star recruit Eric Swinney has suffered an injury that will likely sideline him for the season.

According to 247Sports, Swinney was one of the top ranked players in the state of Georgia and among the elite running back prospects in the nation in 2015.

Ole Miss finished last season ranked 75th in rushing defense by averaging only 155 rushing yards a game last season and down to 143-yard average in SEC games.

With a yet to-be-determined new starting quarterback in Oxford this season, the Rebels are expected to lean on their ground game until a competent starter emerges. Now the running game will likely be missing a vital piece of the puzzle this season.
