Report: Mother of nation's No. 1 prospect calls Muschamp a 'pure liar'

When South Carolina hired away Will Muschamp from Auburn, many fans must be wondering where that leaves both schools with five-star prospect Rashan Gary, currently rated as the No. 1 overall recruit in the nation by 247Sports.

Auburn coaches Muschamp and Lance Thompson - rumored to be joining the South Carolina staff - have served as primary recruiters of Gary for the Tigers up to this point.

The coaching transition appears to have significantly hurt one school, but it may not be the one you think. As Gary's mother, Jennifer Coney, told 247Sports:

Judging from that account, South Carolina has little chance of swaying Gary any time soon. 

"Muschamp is a liar," said Coney. "A pure liar."

"Coach Thompson said he loves Auburn and plans on being there. Coach Muschamp said the same thing. He said he had put his family through a lot. He had moved nine times. He had moved his kids from school to school and wanted some stability. He said he promised his son stability through high school. He knew he wasn’t going anywhere — Auburn was where he’s going to stay. Of course, that was a lie."
