Report: Golden headed to Hurricanes

Temple coach Al Golden has been offered and is expected to accept the head coaching job at Miami, according to a published report.

The deal has not been finalized, according to ESPN.com.

In five seasons at Temple, Golden achieved a 27-34 record. In 2009, the Owls finished the regular season 9-3, the program's best finish since 1979.

Golden's name surfaced in the past as an eventual replacement for Joe Paterno at Penn State, where Golden played tight end from 1987-1991 and was an assistant in 2000.
