Report: Former Utah State QB Darell Garretson to transfer to OSU

According to a report by The Oregonian, former Utah State QB Darell Garretson is transferring to Oregon State.

Garretson, a 6'0" junior, expects to walk on at OSU with the hopes of eventually being offered a scholarship.

Garretson received his release papers from Utah State in April and will have to sit out the 2015 season due to NCAA transfer rules. He will have two years of eligibility remaining beginning in 2016.

"It doesn't matter," Garretson said of walking on, according to Connor Letourneau of The Oregonian. "I like the place too much. I actually went there on an unofficial (visit) going into my senior year of high school, and I really liked it then. I don't think it's changed too much."

In 2014, Garretson threw for 1,140 yards, eight touchdowns and three interceptions in five games as a replacement for Utah State star QB Chuckie Keeton.
