Report: Florida DB Roberson charged

Florida cornerback Marcus Roberson was charged with underage drinking after a September incident on campus, the Orlando Sentinel reported Wednesday.

The 19-year-old freshman was arrested outside a residence hall Sept. 14 after he was spotted with a can of Four Loko, the Sentinel reported. He was charged with misdemeanor possession of alcohol by a person under age 21.

Roberson reportedly pleaded not guilty Sept. 28 and a pre-trial conference was scheduled for Nov. 7.

Roberson, ranked last year by Rivals.com as the No. 2 cornerback in the high school senior class, has started all seven games for the Gators (4-3, 2-3 SEC) and registered 18 tackles.

According to the report, Roberson is the seventh Florida player to be arrested this year and the second one to be booked for underage drinking. Three of those players are no longer with the team.

A university spokesman said the matter had been "handled internally" by coach Will Muschamp.
