Report: Bill Snyder is leaning toward returning in 2016

Kansas State coach Bill Snyder is 76 years old and he apparently isn't ready to leave coaching after his 24th season.

Snyder is leaning toward returning to the Wildcats in 2016 he told the Kansas City Star on Tuesday, the night he was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame. Snyder, who is 193-100-1 heading into the Liberty Bowl on Jan. 2, said of returning: "As of right now, I have no reason not to."

Snyder retired in 2005, but after watching the program slip in his absence, he returned to K-State in 2009. Following the Wildcats' victory in the regular-season finale against West Virginia that got K-State to 6-6 and bowl eligible, Snyder said he would until after the Liberty Bowl to decide on his future.

"Having gone through it (retiring) one time before, there is probably a lot more that I know now I didn’t know then. The process is not an easy one. And it is a process," Snyder told the Star. "It is not just a sudden knee-jerk response. I tried to go through a process last time and learned a lot from doing it. I will bring those things into play as quickly as I can and go from there.”
