Report: Alabama and Wisconsin season opening kickoff set for prime time
The Alabama Crimson Tide have made a habit of winning big against nonconference opponents and are reportedly set to open the season once again to a nationally televised audience when they open against the Wisconsin Badgers on Sept. 5 in AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.
According to the Wisconsin State Journal, the teams are set to kickoff at 8 p.m. EDT with the game airing nationally on ABC.
The game pits traditional powers from the SEC and Big Ten against one another for early season bragging rights as well as an opening season quality win for the victor.
Alabama is currently on a streak of being the betting favorite in 68 consecutive games with this game likely to be number 69 for the Tide.
While the Tide may be the favorite in this game, Wisconsin ultimately should have more to gain from a victory. Last time the Badgers were seen by most college football fans, they lost 59-0 to Ohio State in the Big Ten Championship game. Ohio State followed up that game by upsetting Alabama in the playoff after steamrolling the Tide's defense for 537 yards of total offense.
Both teams will have an opportunity to move on from the beating Ohio State gave them, but which team will prove to be most ready to move on from their Buckeye loss?
