Report: ACC AD's vote to make seven wins the new bowl eligibility standard
The ACC athletic directors have voted to make seven wins the new standard for teams in the league to become bowl eligible, according to a report by ESPN’s Brett McMurphy.
Murphy tweeted that ACC commissioner John Swofford said that the conference’s athletic directors decided that 7-5 will be the new standard to make the postseason, but that 6-6 teams would still be able to fill bowl vacancies if necessary. No 5-7 teams will be allowed in the postseason.
Swofford said a vote would have to pass nationally before changes were made.
