Remembering Paul 'Bear' Bryant on the 33rd anniversary of his passing

The memory of iconic head coach Paul "Bear" Bryant will forever be firmly embedded within the fabric of the Alabama football program.

In fact, Bryant may be the Alabama football program.

On Jan. 26, 1983, Bryant passed away at 69 years old due to a heart attack. His death truly rocked the city of Tuscaloosa to its core.

The accolades Bryant was able to accrue at Alabama were punctuated even further by the intangibles he brought to the table. Whilst rocking his famous black and white houndstooth hat, the steely-eyed individual had an uncanny way of motivating his players to play with exceptional passion, determination, and drive.

Throughout the course of his career, Bryant won six national championships and 232 games in Tuscaloosa as the head coach of the Crimson Tide. Not only is Bryant the most-winningest coach in Alabama history, but he's got more national titles than any other college football head coach to date.

Without question, Bryant will live on as one of the most legendary figures the sport has seen -- and will ever see.
