Photo: BC to wear throwback uniforms versus Notre Dame

When Boston College takes on No. 4 Notre Dame at Fenway Park in this weekend’s Shamrock Series contest it might need a Hail Mary or two to win. Perhaps that’s why the Eagles will be wearing throwback uniforms from the Doug Flutie era.

The former BC quarterback threw one of the most famous Hail Mary's in football history when he launched a last-second, 48-yard touchdown pass to Gerald Phelan to lead the No. 10 Eagles to a 47-45 win over the No. 10 Hurricanes in Miami on Nov. 23, 1984.

Boston College (3-7, 0-7), losers of six straight, is hoping the uniforms prove lucky one more time when it kicks off against the Fighting Irish (9-1) at 7:30 p.m. (EST) on Saturday night.
