Penn State receivers enjoying competitive camp

Penn State football has a pair of productive receivers returning as starters this fall, but StateCollege.com reports several youngsters are pushing DaeSean Hamilton and especially Geno Lewis for playing time during preseason camp. 

Of particular note is Brandon Polk, a 5-foot-9, 163-pound freshman who offers a different look than Hamilton (6-1, 212) and Lewis (6-1, 208). 

"He's a little lightening bug," Hamilton told reporters after practice Wednesday. "When he's out there he's making plays. We give him sweeps and stuff like that. He's a (threat) to score every time he touches the ball."

A four-star prospect from Ashburn, Va., Polk was the No. 1-rated wide receiver in the East last year according to Scout.com. 

Also among those looking to grab a role this fall are sophomores Saeed Blacknall and Chris Godwin, redshirt freshman DeAndre Thompkins and true freshmen Irvin Charles and Juwan Johnson.
