Panthers open camp with plenty of questions
PITTSBURGH (AP) Pitt coach Paul Chryst says the competition for the starting quarterback job is wide open.
Chad Voytik isn't quite so sure.
Voytik said Monday after Pitt's first day of training camp that he is evolving into the starting role. The sophomore is battling junior Trey Anderson for the right to be the starter when Pittsburgh hosts Delaware on Aug. 30.
Chryst says it's not fair to name a starter yet but Voytik appears to have the early edge after playing well in the second half of Pitt's win over Bowling Green in the Little Caesar's Pizza Bowl last December.
