Pac 12 Football: Week 10 Power Rankings

No movers and shakers this week. All the top six teams won and all the bottom six teams loss. Therefore, everything remains the same in the Pac 12 Football Power Rankings … for now.

1. Stanford – The Cardinal dominated Colorado 42-10 and if they win out will be in the college football playoff. Despite the Cardinal’s eight-game winning streak they have yet to clinch the Pac 12 North. But a win against a surging Oregon team this week will do just that.

2. Utah – The Utes got a tough road win against Washington and like Stanford, is still in control of their own college football playoff destiny. The defense looks to be back after forcing four turnovers and with a struggling Arizona team on deck this week look for the trend to continue for the Utes.

3. USC – The Trojans needed a 21-point fourth quarter in order to come back against Arizona last weekend. Just another performance of how wildly inconsistent yet extremely talented the Trojans can be. They are still in the hunt for the Pac 12 South title but must win out and hope Utah loses one more game.

4. UCLA – The Bruins defeated Oregon State 41-0 and still control their destiny for a Pac 12 South title. But their next three games to close out the year (vs Washington State, at Utah, at USC) won’t be easy.

5. Washington State – The Cougars are bowl-eligible for the second time in three seasons and their offense is a big reason why as Luke Falk once again passed for nearly 500 yards in their win against Arizona State.

6. Oregon – 777 yards of offense. I’d say the Oregon offense is humming just in time for their toughest conference game of the year when they take on Stanford this Saturday. A win against Stanford keeps Oregon alive for the Pac 12 North but they will need Stanford to also lose the Big Game in order to win the north for a second straight year.

7. California- The Bears are now on a four-game losing streak after starting the season 5-0. They play Oregon State this week so they should be bowl eligible come next week but with rumors swirling around Sonny Dyke’s job, the Bears’ future looks very murky.

8. Washington – Washington definitely got the short end of the stick on some calls but four turnovers is what ultimately did the Huskies in against Utah. At 4-5, the Huskies need to win two out of three against Arizona State, Oregon State, and Washington State to become a bowl eligible.

9. Arizona – The Wildcats are on a three-game losing streak and you have to wonder whether playing 10 straight games without a bye week is starting to take its toll. Rumors surrounding Rich Rodriguez and other job openings can’t be helping either.

10. Arizona State – A bad season gets worse as the Sun Devils blew a double-digit lead against Washington State to fall to 4-5 for the season. Two home games against Washington and Arizona before a trip to California to take on the Bears is all that’s left on the schedule.

11. Colorado – Are they better than last year? Yes. But will that be enough progress for the folks in Boulder, Colorado, to retain Mike Macintyre? I say yes.

12. Oregon State – The Beavers are officially eliminated from bowl contention and now the fans can start shifting their focus to basketball season.
