Over or under on Kentucky's season win total?
Online betting site 5-Dimes has released over/under win totals for all 128 FBS college football teams, and a season after going 5-7, Kentucky has had its projection set at six wins. The only SEC team predicted to win fewer games is Vanderbilt, which has an over/under of three victories, but it would result in Kentucky being bowl-eligible for the first time since 2010.
The Wildcats' 5-7 record in 2014 might be a bit misleading, as they started the year 5-1 before falling off in league play and dropping their last six games. Also, their 5-1 start could have easily been 6-0 considering that their first defeat came in triple overtime to Florida in Gainesville. After going 2-10 in 2013, and improving by three wins last season, it is quite possible that third-year head coach Mark Stoops will keep Kentucky progressing and move them past the six-win mark.
However, one thing standing in the way of that victory progression is a daunting schedule. With difficult home games against Florida, Missouri, Tennessee, Auburn and Louisville, and visits to South Carolina, Mississippi State, and Georgia, the Wildcats will certainly have their work cut out for them.
