OSU president: Receiving NCAA penalties 'vindicates us'

One wouldn't normally expect a university president to express content after receiving penalties from the NCAA, but for Oklahoma State president Burns Hargis, there's plenty of justification for joy.

“I feel that this vindicates us,” Hargis said about receiving the NCAA ruling after a 19-month investigation brought on by a scandalous 2013 Sports Illustrated article.

"I think even when the charges were made by the NCAA, that was a moment of vindication,” he added. “As you know, the NCAA decided the accusations in the Sports Illustrated articles were fundamentally unfounded. So, that’s about as clear as you can make it.”
