OSU and OU senior quarterbacks will start the season on the bench

Oklahoma and Oklahoma State have some really experienced quarterbacks this season.

Who will be starting it on the bench.

Trevor Knight, owner of a Sugar Bowl win for Oklahoma and 16 career starts, won't be the first quarterback on the field Sept. 5 for the Sooners against Akron. Baker Mayfield gets the chance to be the first-team quarterback.

At Oklahoma State, J.W. Walsh is 7-3 as a starter for his career and nearly led the Cowboys past Florida State last season, falling 37-31. Mason Rudolph, who has three career starts, is the new quarterback at OSU when the Cowboys open the year at Central Michigan.

Knight is a team captain – the second year in a row he's been named to that spot. Walsh is guy who the Cowboys have used as a starter and off the bench.

Both Walsh and Knight provide amazing depth at a position where most teams are quite thin. Both are seniors.

Both will also start the season on the bench.
