We are three days away from Ole Miss taking on Florida State. So here are three Seminoles to watch for.

The Seminoles are a very talented team that can easily compete with anyone, but every team has its stars. With the Noles, they’re at every position. Ole Miss vs Florida State will be a very diverse group of talent on both sides.

Now if you ask Florida State fans and media, they will tell you that they are the greatest team to ever walk the earth, but they do have some weaknesses.

Each slide will contain one player from the offense, one from defense, and one special teams player.

On offense, the Seminoles return 11 starters from last season, but that number included Sean Maguire, who is now out with an injury. The RS freshman quarterback Deondre Francois will start the game for the Seminoles.

Ole Miss is very familiar with Francois, as he was recruited by the Rebels back when he was in high school.

While most fans want to see a freshman quarterback go against their team, this change may actually hurt the Rebels. Maguire was the type of quarterback that Ole Miss has had success against.

But, whoever is taking the snaps for the Noles, they will have to face a young Ole Miss defense.

Dalvin Cook

5-11, 213 lbs, Junior

Dalvin Cook is the first name many know when discussing the Seminoles. The bruising running back is one of the best in the country. While the Rebels have yet to face Cook, they have faced running backs of his caliber.

Most notably is Leonard Fournette, the LSU running back that Ole Miss has faced twice now.

Cook is speedy as well as bruising. He can get around players and make plays with ease at times. With the troubles at linebacker for the Rebels, Cook could give the defense some trouble.

If he can escape the defensive line of Ole Miss, he will run his way through the rest of the defense. An inexperienced defensive backfield and linebacking corp does not help the Rebels here.

Cook will be looking to make a Heisman campaign moment against the Rebels this week. Look for the Landsharks to try and plug the edge and keep Cook from getting free.

If the Rebels can stifle Cook like they did Fournette last season, expect Ole Miss to take a lead. But if Cook runs wild on the Rebels, Ole Miss fans will be in for a long night.

Derwin James

6-3, 211 lbs, Sophomore

Sophomore defensive back Derwin James is one of the best defensive backs in college football. His speed and length give him an advantage no other player has.

He hits players harder than I have seen a DB hit in a long time. James and his power can knock people out of their shoes.

Combine that power with his speed and height and you have a monster at in the defensive backfield.

James will most likely be in charge of keeping Chad Kelly in check and in the pocket on Monday night. When he is in coverage, look for James to cover Adeboyejo or Van Jefferson.

The number one objective for Monday night should be to keep James away from Kelly. With that speed and power, he could easily knock the star quarterback out of the game, and maybe even longer.

With Jalen Ramsey gone from the FSU defense, look for James to take a prominent role. He is definitely a future first rounder in the NFL.

Ricky Aguayo

6-2, 196 lbs, Freshman

True freshman kicker Ricky Aguayo should be a familiar name for Rebel fans. His brother, Roberto Aguayo, was a record-setting kicker at Florida State.

Now while Ricky does have some big shoes to fill, the Seminole staff is confident in his ability.

He will split time with Logan Tyler on place kicks and kick off duties.

Aguayo will definitely be a factor for the Rebs, as he could potentially be kicking to win or tie the game late in the 4th.

The Rebels will try to shake up the freshman early and often.

While kickers may not be the most important player on the field, Aguayo could spell out the victory for the ‘Noles if the game comes down to the wire late.
