Ole Miss looking to follow similar defensive blueprint against LSU
LSU running back Leonard Fournette is the fulcrum of the Tigers' offense. If he's on his game, Les Miles' team is very difficult to stop. If he's neutralized to an extent, LSU struggles to put up offensive production.
It's no coincidence the Tigers lost their last two games. Arkansas and Alabama did a terrific job of limiting Fournette's effectiveness running the football. With LSU's inability to truly attack an opposing defense with its passing game, it was nearly impossible to come back from a deficit.
Ole Miss will look to replicate the model Alabama and Arkansas provided it with -- which includes stacking the box and making running room nonexistent for the talented running back.
"There is always something to learn from other games," said Ole Miss head coach Hugh Freeze. "There are certain things we can study and learn from them. We will. We will look at that and try and fit it to our game plan."
Ole Miss has the nation's No. 23 rush defense. Robert Nkemdiche and company will look to improve upon those stats against a somewhat struggling LSU offensive line.
