Ole Miss Football: Rebels Sign a Trio of JUCO Studs

Ole Miss football signed a trio of stars from the JUCO ranks yesterday, addressing some open holes on the Ole Miss team.

Ole Miss has needed a resurgence in recruiting this season and the Rebels got just that yesterday. The Rebels signed DE Markel Winters, LB Brendan Williams, and CB Javien Hamilton.

Winters, a 6-4 260 LB DE from Jones County JC was committed to Ole Miss earlier this season, but decomitted later on. He signed with Ole Miss yesterday.

Winters racked up 16 sacks in 9 games this season for Jones County.

Brendan Williams is the sleeper signee for Ole Miss this season. He is a big, aggressive linebacker who can flat-out hit people.

    Ole Miss desperately needs linebackers to fill in the holes in the defense. With new defensive coordinator Wesley McGriff looking to fill some of those holes, signing guys like Williams will help in the long run.

    Javien Hamilton has been committed to Ole Miss for a few months now, making it official yesterday.

    The Ole Miss recruiting class for 2017 in currently at 10 commits and 3 signees.

    Ole Miss will have to hit the recruiting trail hard if they wish to compete in the upcoming years in the SEC.

    Some big time prospects are still out there for Ole Miss as well, such as 5-star RB Cam Akers and 4-star LB Willie Gay.

    Look for the new coaching staff to make these guys high priority.
