Old Dominion 45, Hampton 42

Thomas Demarco rushed for two touchdowns in the fourth quarter to help Old Dominion put away Hampton 45-42 on Saturday night.

Hampton led 34-31 early in the fourth before Demarco scored on runs of 16 and 7 yards to give the Monarchs a 45-34 lead with 3:41 to play. After Demarco's 16-yarder with 6:50 left, Hampton fumbled the ball away on the first play of its next possession and the Monarchs scored four plays later.

The win gives the Monarchs (3-0), an eight-game winning streak, which is the longest in the Football Championship Subdivision after Penn's loss to Lafayette earlier Saturday.

Old Dominion, which blocked two punts against Hampton last season, blocked another Saturday, which Larry Pinkard returned 5 yards for a touchdown.

Hampton led 14-3 in the second quarter, and 27-24 with 1:53 remaining in the third after Jeremy Jermin returned a fumble 42 yards for a score.
