Oklahoma State super-booster wants Swoopes, not Heard, for Texas
No. 24 Oklahoma State travels to Austin Saturday to play the Texas Longhorns, and Cowboys super-booster T. Boone Pickens is apparently pretty impressed with new Horns quarterback Jerrod Heard.
Pickens told an Austin radio station Thursday morning that he wrote a nice note to Texas asking that they play the "other guy" at quarterback for the Big 12 opener. The other guy, of course, is demoted quarterback Tyrone Swoopes, who lost his starting job after the Week 1 debacle at Notre Dame.
#OkState rock star @boonepickens told #TBL @am1300thezone he wrote a note to #Texas asking for "the other QB" when #Cowboys play #UT.

Heard, a redshirt freshman, has had two strong outings in his first two career starts, including last week's school record-setting performance of 527 total yards, eclipsing Vince Young's 2005 record of 506 yards.
That's a pretty nice compliment from one of the most prominent boosters in college football. Just don't look for Charlie Strong to appease him.
