Ohio State's Friday Night Lights results in new Buckeyes
Friday Night Lights, Ohio State's annual prime-time summer recruiting extravaganza at Ohio Stadium, yielded lots of attention and a couple of verbal commitments for Urban Meyer's Buckeyes.
Luke Farrell, a four-star tight end from Massillon (Ohio) Perry became the 19th member of the 2016 class Friday night when he made his pledge official via Twitter.
Scout.com rates Farrell the No. 7 tight end in the country and No. 2 in Ohio behind Cincinnati Moeller's Jake Hausmann, who is also an Ohio State verbal commit.
Eight of the 19 commits so far for 2016 are from Ohio as early in-state recruiting seems to be less of a struggle this year for Meyer than it was last year.
Also committing Friday was junior kicker Blake Haubeil of Canisius High School in Buffalo, New York.
Haubeil is the ninth player to commit to Ohio State for 2017 and the first specialist.
