Ohio State vs Oklahoma Live Stream: Watch Buckeyes vs Sooners Online
Showdown alert as #14 Oklahoma (1-1) takes on #3 Ohio State (2-0) in the battle of Big 12 versus Big 10.
This will be the third meeting ever between Ohio State Buckeyes and the Oklahoma Sooners. Both of those games were top-10 matchups. The last time the teams met, Ohio State posted a 24-14 victory over Oklahoma during the 1983 season in Norman. Now they return again ready for battle.
Ohio State (2-0) is coming off two wins over sub-par teams in Bowling Green and Tulsa. The Oklahoma Sooners (1-1) opened the season with a loss to #5 Houston but bounced back last week with a win over Louisiana-Monroe.
This week will be a new test for both teams. Oklahoma will need to win or any chance of playoff survival will be over, while Ohio State will play a top 20 team for the first time this season. “This one’s real, real, real,” head coach Urban Meyer said.
The quarterbacks are going to be key for victory. Whichever signal-caller can make the least mistakes and take advantage of the errors will be the winner.
Ohio State’s J.T. Barrett has been everything we thought he would be. Barrett has been accurate on 35 of his 53 attempts (66 percent), for 498 yards and six touchdowns with just one interception. He has also rushed 22 times for 85 yards and three touchdowns.
The Buckeyes offense has been hard to stop. They are second nationally in points per game (62.5) and fifth in total offense (596.5 ypg).
The defense has also been one of the best in the nation. They have not allowed a touchdown and Ohio State gives up 6.5 points per game (third-best in the nation) and is allowing only 216 yards per game (No. 5 nationally).
For Oklahoma, it rests on the shoulders of Baker Mayfield. He has been solid even in the loss to Houston. He has connected on 38 of his 53 attempts (72 percent) for 567 yards and five touchdowns without throwing an interception.
Their defense was torched by Greg Ward and the Houston Cougars for 33 points, but they bounced back against ULM and only gave 17 points, mostly through second and third team defensive players.
This game has so many different story lines. Great coaches in Bob Stoops and Urban Meyer, Heisman Trophy implications, and playoff hopes.
